The Partner

It's all about meeting people.

You will never ever find the one for you if you stay locked in your room, read books about love and do a movie marathon of rom-com movies from the 90's. Forget about Tom Hanks or Jerry Maguire. You need an actual person. A living, breathing mass of carbon atom who will attend to your needs. Free yourself and be visible. The world is a marketplace of people who are longing for the same thing as you. If you stay underneath your make-believe world where you just wait until the perfect guy comes , nothing will happen. You will just be trapped in your own web of imagination and end up frustrated.

I say you go out. Create an account in dating sites. Go on blind dates. Heck, talk to the guy right beside you. In this time when personal space is almost paper thin - break it. Only when you let yourself open will you find someone who'll do the same.

The Author

I abhor people posting "LOVE:WANTED" kind of status messages on Facebook. It seems like their day would not be complete without them shouting into the world just how desperate they are for love and attention. While I understand that love is an important feeling to give - and to have, it never occurred to me that revealing your lack will result to acquiring one.

But I am also not a radically passive person  who throws everything into fate and chance. I believe that if you want love (or a lover), you need to act your part. You need to toil before you harvest. And most importantly, you need to be seen in the proper demograph. But saying it out loud in Facebook is just a tasteless way of finding it and also downright pathetic.

On that last note, I blocked those people in my feed. I feel sorry but I just had to.
